Do you really get stressed at Christmas time? You shouldn't, because the Lord doesn't care about your bank account, except that you would turn a particularly wonderful holiday (holy day) into a competition of who can spend the most money on stuff most people don't even need. Two key words, stuff- accumulation of unnecessary non essential items and need- essentials or necessities for your well being or another's. For a lot of us, 2020 has turned our usual way of celebrating, meaning spending money, upside down. But there is an upswing to this. When you don't have money, you don't spend money. Where's the stress?! I want to show you an example. I love thrift shops, there are treasures galore waiting to be found in them. I found a beautiful little doll for a quarter, took apart her whole outfit for pattern pieces and bought a nearly new green velvet toddlers dress for a dollar. I had some lace and ribbon and used whatever imagination to turn a worn out used doll into a green velvet victorian gorgeous doll complete with a sleigh and Santa's bag for a lovely entrance decoration or just the doll for a favorite collector. Meanwhile, homeless people are needing socks, gloves and hats, these are items no size needed, most times. Goodie bags with toothbrush, toothpaste, soap and washcloth, comb, lotion and Kleenex would be welcomed. See where im going with this. There are so many in need, they outnumber any want or need you and I could possibly come up with. No stress and a no brainer. Besides, it's a great birthday present for Him, who's work is ongoing. "When he are in the service of others, ye are only in the service of your God."
