I did it! I finally made a gingerbread house. Well it wasnt from gingerbread so technically it was a holiday house made from graham crackers, and all the fixins'. We used almond bark, great for sealing the edges and stabilizing our structures. Then we let our imaginations soar. I went small. Single layer country log cabin complete with a decorated Charle Brown tree in the "yard". I used pretzels and white icing to get the snow effect, pasted to the graham crackers I also used frosted wheat cereal for the shingles roof. For the chocolate door I melted almond bark on wax paper, shaped it and added a snocap for the door handle. Then the wheels began turning. 'Cause its just a cute country log cabin. We got all kinds of candies for the finishing touches. I bought everything at the Dollar Tree, the sales lady wanted to see pictures of our creations. After the pictures were taken, they were ready to enjoy. While munching, we were brainstorming our ideas for next year. It was a great family activity. After all, its the season to be jolly.
