Traditions

Doesnt it feel good to go home and Mom has her favorite pie baked, Dad, with feet propped up, is watching a favorite Christmas movie with the kids, Grandpa and Grandma going through all the newest pictures of everyone while they share their early Christmases? It feels like old shoes that are really worn, comfortable and cozy. I knew a lady who made a Christmas pillowcase for her kids every year. One of my dearest friends used to send me a chapter of her book of memories she was writing to her grandkids. She wrote them about her childhood memories. She grew up not having much, what we would say, but they had a lot of love and their excitement on Christmas morning was an orange, a few nuts and a few pieces of candy. I started a tradition with my daughter and I continue it with my grandkids. They get an ornament each year, and when they leave for school or on their own they have ornaments and memories of home to go with them. Simple heartfelt traditions help us to enjoy a holiday that's so busy and stressful for some. Its like. Coming home, comfy, cozy and warmth felt within.
