Oh to be 18! My granddaughter just turned 18, a full life ahead of her, choices to make that will make a difference years down the road. Wow, that brought back memories. The year I turned 18 a person could vote and drink, and some did just that. Not a good combination. At that time the country was experiencing the last of the hippy era and onto the big hair. I had several careers I had thought would be good, nurse or a teacher. My grandmother pushed me to be a secretary. But typing 35 words a minute and 28 errors...ixnay on that idea. If I had known what I know now, I would have been more wise about my choices and researched the end results...say 3 years down the road. Money is not everything, but it does pay the bills. Now do just want to pay the bills or do you also want to save for unexpected expenses? Save, as to invest that money to work for you? Save, for a down payment on a car so you can get rid of the clunker you have and be confident you can get to work? Get the picture...SAVE! Wisdom, the definition I liked was"the soundness of an action or decision with regard to the application of experience, knowledge and good judgement." Well here's another one for you youngsters out there. I told my daughter several times when the question of whether I knew something, that she may very well have been smarter than me. But I was wiser. I got to experience all those things and make decisions that she was just touching the surface of. Through experience, we then can tell you youngsters a thing or two. Trust me. Watch an AFV episode and while they, (meaning youngsters because most of them are young), experience pain and stupidity we get to have a great laugh. And why is that? Because we can say "Been there, done that!"
