Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as the saying goes. Recently I had the opportunity to attend a beauty pageant for my niece. What people don't get to see is what's going on behind the scenes backstage. Lots of primping and pampering and last minute coaching. Some shed a few tears and some have anxious happy feet. Then they get to show their stuff. They are so cute crossing the stage (by the way these categories go from 3 months to 5 years). A few little girls wanted to put on the brakes, "I don't want anything to so with this!" Others were shy and had to be coached the whole way. And then there's one. The stage was hers. Stopping now and then to pose, waving to the crowd, sending kisses to everyone. She's a natural. If she'd have been in jeans and cowgirl boots or sandals and shorts, it would have been the same. The stage was hers. Beauty comes form within and she was beaming. I can't wait to see in a few years, what talent she will bring to the stage. You go girl! P.S. She won!
